Passport To Graduate School
Your Roadmap to an advanced degree in STEM!
Thinking about grad school, but not sure where to start? Wondering how to apply, how to pay, or if it’s even right for you?
SHPE’s Passport to Graduate School
is offered each spring and is your all-in-one guide to navigating the path to a master’s or doctoral degree in STEM. Whether you’re a current undergraduate, recent graduate, or early-career professional, this program will give you the clarity, confidence, and community you need to take the next step.
What is Passport to Graduate School?
Passport to Graduate School is a national SHPE program designed to increase the number of Latinos pursuing and earning graduate degrees in STEM. Through a combination of virtual workshops, mentorship, and practical resources, this initiative demystifies the application process and empowers students to see graduate school as an attainable and valuable next step in their academic and professional journey.
Who Should Participate?
- SHPE undergraduate members considering a master’s or PhD
- Recent grads looking to return to school
- Professionals in STEM curious about research, teaching, or leadership roles that require an advanced degree
- Anyone who feels unsure but interested — this program is built for you.
Why It Matters
Latinos remain significantly underrepresented in graduate STEM programs. Passport to Graduate School exists to change that — by removing barriers, providing representation, and building a support system that travels with you.
Grad school is not just for the few. It’s for YOU.
